Week-long Filipino food celebration drives restaurant traffic, community engagement, and opens applications for cities nationwide in 2027

We have been celebrating National Lumpia Day for several years, and one day is simply not enough. That’s why we wanted seven of them here, deep in the heart of San Antonio, TX.”

SAN ANTONIO, TX, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The inaugural National Lumpia Week, held March 10–16, 2026, concluded with overwhelming community support, spotlighting Filipino cuisine while driving meaningful economic and cultural impact across San Antonio. Organized by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce – Greater San Antonio (PACC-GSA), the week-long celebration brought together restaurants, small business owners, community leaders, and food lovers in a first-of-its-kind citywide experience over the Philippines’ favorite party food: LUMPIA.
Building on the success of previous National Lumpia Day celebrations, this year’s expansion into a full week created more opportunities for engagement, exploration, and support for local Filipino-owned businesses.
“We have been celebrating National Lumpia Day for several years, and one day is simply not enough,” said Nicolette Ardiente, Vice Region Chair of PACC-GSA. “That’s why we wanted seven of them here, deep in the heart of San Antonio, TX.”

A Citywide Celebration of Filipino Culinary Excellence
National Lumpia Week featured a curated lineup of Filipino restaurants and food vendors across San Antonio, each offering their signature take on lumpia and inviting the community to experience the diversity of Filipino flavors.
Participating restaurants included:
- Kain-Na Filipino Cuisine
- Mahal’s Kitchen
- Malabito Street Catering & Cha-a Teahouse
- MY Chockdee
- Sari-Sari Filipino Restaurant, Market & Bakery
- Susie’s Lumpia House
- Lumpia by Bebot (Food Truck)

Throughout the week, attendees explored multiple locations as part of a citywide food crawl, discovering new dishes, supporting local entrepreneurs, and engaging directly with restaurant owners and staff. Each location served as both a culinary destination and a cultural touchpoint, reinforcing the richness of Filipino heritage in San Antonio.
A highlight of the event was the People’s Choice competition, where attendees voted daily for their favorite lumpia. The final rankings were:
1. Lumpia by Bebot
2. Mahal’s Kitchen
3. Kain-Na Filipino Cuisine

These top-performing restaurants stood out not only for their exceptional flavors but also for their ability to connect with the community and deliver memorable dining experiences.

Leadership, Collaboration, and Volunteer Excellence
National Lumpia Week was made possible through the leadership, coordination, and tireless efforts of the PACC-GSA Board of Directors and volunteers.
From early planning and restaurant outreach to sponsorship development, media coordination, and daily event execution, the board demonstrated a deep commitment to uplifting Filipino businesses and creating meaningful community experiences. Board members worked behind the scenes and on-site throughout the week, ensuring that each activation—from food crawl stops to promotional efforts—ran smoothly.
This collaborative effort reflects PACC-GSA’s mission to inspire entrepreneurship, promote professional growth, and serve the broader community. The success of Lumpia Week highlights what can be achieved when business leaders, volunteers, and community members come together with a shared purpose.

🌍
Driving Economic and Cultural Impact
Beyond celebration, National Lumpia Week delivered meaningful impact for the San Antonio community:
Increased foot traffic and revenue for participating restaurants

Strong engagement across social media platforms using #LumpiaWeek
Increased visibility for Filipino-owned businesses
New connections between local entrepreneurs, customers, and community organizations

A key innovation of the event was the digital passport experience powered by Kultura.RSVP, which allowed attendees to check in at each restaurant via QR code, earn points, and track their progress throughout the week. This gamified approach encouraged participants to visit more locations, stay engaged, and share their experiences online.
The event also incorporated community-driven elements such as voting, contests, and promotional activities, further strengthening participation and creating a sense of shared celebration across the city. These features were designed not only to enhance the attendee experience but also to maximize visibility and support for participating businesses.
In addition, event initiatives such as raffle ticket sales, merchandise, and sponsorships contributed to supporting community programs and future PACC-GSA initiatives, reinforcing the event’s long-term value.

🚀
